Software

HeartSine® samaritan® PAD Universal Upgrader (1.4.1 / 2.0.6) — Note: If a Software Installation warning window is displayed when you attempt to download the Upgrader software, select the “Continue Anyway” option. After downloading the .zip file, double click to extract the PAD Upgrader program. This requires a data cable.

Is an upgrade available to make the PAD unit compatible with the AHA/ERC 2005 CPR Guidelines?

Status indicator is not flashing or flashing Red.

A problem has been detected. Check the expiry date of your Pad-Pak™. Change the Pad-Pak™ if the expiry date has been exceeded. If the status indicator is still not flashing or flashing red after you have changed your Pad-Pak™ contact AEDUniverse.com at 1-866-517-8243 or Heartsine technical support.

Does the PAD perform a weekly self test?

Yes this self test occurs on Sunday night at midnight GMT. If a fault is detected during self test the status indicator will flash red or will stop flashing. If this occurs please contact AEDUniverse.com at 1-866-517-8243 or HeartSine® technical support Heartsine Technical Support If the self test has passed the status indicator will continue to flash green every 5 seconds.

What test equipment can be used for testing the HeartSine® samaritan® PAD Defibrillator?

The only test equipment that can be used for testing the HeartSine® samaritan® PAD Defibrillator is the Fluke Biotek Defibrillator Tester QED 6 that has been calibrated after 1st June 2006. Please contact Heartsine technical support for further information.

Maintenance Checks Required - Watch a video

  1. Check the Status Indicator is flashing Green approximately every 5 seconds. If it is not flashing Green or flashing Red a fault has been detected. Change the Pad-Pak™. If the status indicator is still flashing Red or not flashing contact AEDUniverse.com at 1-866-517-8243.
  2. Check the expiration date of the Pad-Pak™ currently inserted into the PAD. If the Pad-Pak™ has exceeded the date stated on the lot number label, remove it from the PAD and replace with a new Pad-Pak™. Contact AEDUniverse.com at 1-866-517-8243 for replacements or click here to order replacements online.
  3. Check supplies, accessories and spares for damage or expiration. Replace any accessories found to be damaged or that have exceeded their expiration date.
  4. Check the exterior of the PAD for cracks or other signs of damage. Contact your AEDUniverse.com at 1-866-517-8243 if any damage is found.
  5. Check that trained responders are aware of the PADs location and that it is easily accessible for those responders at all times.
  6. Ensure all trained responders have up to date training for both CPR and AED use.

Warranty and Expiry

  • Heartsine PAD AED – Extended 7 Year warranty for units shipped on or after 1 Oct 2006. Proof of date of Purchase required.
  • PADs shipped prior to 1 October 2006 – 5 Year Warranty.
  • Pad-Pak™ – 3.5 Year Shelf life from the date of manufacture.

Charge Time

Charging Time: 150J in less than 8 seconds, 200J in less than 12 seconds from a shock advised message.
