This Upgrade Kit will allow you to upgrade many LIFEPAK CR Plus or Express AED's. Upgrade all of your old CR Plus AED's to meet the AHA 2005 CPR and AED guidelines. 21340-000276

Note: If your battery is greater than 1 year old we recommend getting an extra battery as the software upgrade could deplete your current battery.

What has changed with the CR Plus and EXPRESS?
Physio-Control has added a new voice prompt and two new set-up options to allow responders to more faithfully follow the 2005 Guidelines. Customers now have the capability to change all of their AEDs to adhere to the 2005 Guidelines at the appropriate time. The new expanded voice prompt occurs at the beginning of a CPR period and will say “Provide chest compressions and rescue breaths.” This replaces the “Start CPR” voice prompt. The two new set-up options allow the CR Plus and EXPRESS to follow the 2005 Guidelines calling for a single shock followed immediately by a period of CPR. Specifically, Physio-Control has added the ability to eliminate the series of up to three shocks and replace it with a single shock. Physio-Control has also added the ability to remove all patient check voice prompts that typically occur prior to the beginning of a CPR period (e.g. Check for Breathing). With the patient check eliminated, the CPR period will begin immediately.
